Happy New Year Greetings from the Arts Leadership Program – January 2009
Upcoming Events, Deadlines and Suggested Activities
The ALP home page will always provide you with the latest ALP news, deadlines and events of note. Please be sure to mark your calendars for the ALP Intern Fair which will be held this year on Wednesday, March 4, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm (required attendance for those of you planning to do local internships next year). Congratulations to Abigail McHugh who will be attending the 15th World Suzuki Convention in Melbourne, Australia in April 2009. Her grant will be covering expenses associated with her travel, hotel and conference enrollment. Special Opportunity grant funding for 2009 is running out. Be sure to let me know if you have any plans for the remainder of the Spring 2009 semester.
Summer & Post Graduate Internships
Students or alumni who are considering summer or post graduate internships shouldalready be researching potential opportunities. Recent postings on the ALP Potential Internships pages include summer and post graduate possibilities with JACK Quartet and Colbert Artists Management. More ideas for summer internships are always available on the ALP website or facebook page. Are you an ALP alum working at an organization that would like to host an ALP intern? See our “Host an ALP Intern” page for forms and directions. Applications for summer internships will be due April 17, 2009
Other Accomplishments
ALP students and alumni are always garnering awards and kudos! Congratulate Lydia Zotto for her recent Susan B. Anthony Scholarship Award. Selected to participate in the UR/Paychex Leadership Institute were Ashlee Bickley, Sam Krall, and Lydia Zotto. Joining an elite group of leaders and students from music schools across the country to participate in a conference on Preparing the Generation-E Musician are Katherine Crowe, Steve Danyew, Ashley Garofalo, and Sam Krall.
