Believe it or not, it’s time to start
thinking about next semester and pre-registration for ALP courses.
Scheduling for advising sessions is now available. Sessions will be
held October 18-27, 2011. Sign up sheets are located at the
reception desk in the IML Suite, Miller Center First Floor (open M-F, 9 am
- 4 pm). Advising sessions are required for newly admitted students,
but optional for the rest of you.

Welcome to new ALP
interns! Current DMA student Andrew Gilchrist is working with
Julia Figueras at WXXI-FM. And ALP alum Leah Goldstein is
working as a grants intern with both Deborah Fox at Pegasus Early Music and
Roberta Schwartz at the Persuasive Pen.

UR Leadership Luncheon: “Succeeding in the Face of
Failure” Wednesday, October 26,
12:00-1:00 p.m., Wilson Commons Stackel Room. Lovely Warren,
President of the Rochester City Council will facilitate the second
Leadership Luncheon of the semester on “Succeeding in the Face of
Failure.” Learn about President Warren’s path to becoming a leader in
the Rochester community while enjoying a free lunch provided by RCCL. Space
is limited to 30 students so submit your RSVP to leadership@rochester.edu today!
The RCCL educates
students to become engaged citizens and leaders capable of effecting
positive social change in their communities. They envision a world in which
all people collaborate to transform their communities. Pique your
interest? Try one of their free Leadership Luncheons or sign
up for their newsletter.
The Academy is a
competitive two-year fellowship program designed to prepare the world’s
finest young professional musicians for careers that combine musical
excellence with teaching, community outreach, advocacy, and
leadership. Fellows receive a stipend of $24,818 along with health
