Job:  New Jersey Symphony Orchestra:  Coordinator of Education and Community Engagement  (Work with ALP alum Kate White, who would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the position.)

Internship: Alarm Will Sound – is working on a ten-year strategic plan and could use a smart unpaid intern to do some research and writing on analyzing the new-music “market” in the Midwest (particularly St. Louis).  Interested?  Contact Alarm Will Sound Managing Director Gavin Chuck.

ALP students win 3 of 4 awards in Eastman Institute for Music Leadership’s New Venture Challenge 2010.  Congratulations to Fotina Naumenko, Steve Danyew and Ashley Garofalo

 IML Spotlight:
Sam Krall

Eastman Senior Sam Krall, a dual performance major in
Voice and Classical Guitar and an Arts Leadership Program participant, won the Kauffman Foundation’s New Venture Challenge as a freshman in 2007 with a savvy business plan to provide discounted concert attire to incoming conservatory students.  In this interview, Sam discusses the evolution of the business through his four years at Eastman, and the importance of entrepreneurship as he sets off to create a career in the contemporary music world.
