Welcome our New Employee
We are pleased to announce that a
new employee, Michael Reed, will be joining the staff of the Institute for
Music Leadership. Mike will assume the position of Information Analyst.
After graduating from Mansfield
University with a Bachelor of Music Business degree, minor in Business
Administration he was a percussion intern with Yamaha Corporation of
America. Mike plays drums in a local band and maintains their website. His
most recent position was with Guitar Center where he managed the percussion
department.
We’re
looking forward to the enthusiasm and skills Mike will bring to the
position. Please join us in welcoming him to Eastman!
Entrepreneurship week 2009 with the CMI
Entrepreneurship
Week 2009 will take place the week of November 23, and the Center for Music
Innovation (CMI) will participate by hosting a pre-conference workshop at
the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) conference in San
Diego, California. “The Entrepreneurial Music School in a Challenging
Economy,” is the topic of the workshop and the primary
presenter/facilitator will be Bob Johansen, Distinguished Fellow and former
CEO of the Institute for the Future. Eastman
faculty/administrators Ramon Ricker, Jamal Rossi, Cheryl Stanton and
Eastman students Rohan Krishnamurthy and Hope Carlson will also participate
and present.
The College Music Society's Inaugural CMS Summit
"The
College Music Society announces the inaugural CMS Summit, January 15-17,
2010 at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music in Nashville,
Tennessee. This will be a joint Music Entrepreneurship conference with the
United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship..."

all, you are and will be working with real people even after you
graduate. Make sure you are always polite, friendly and outgoing. Be
attentive to what others are trying to tell you and strive to be an
effective communicator.
