Congratulations to the New Venture Challenge Winners
The New Venture Challenge is a contest to encourage new thinking and innovative ideas in music. It gives students the opportunity to develop a business plan that could result in the launch of a new entrepreneurial enterprise. This year’s winners are:

In this month’s spotlight: Beth Meyers
“Beth Meyers is a founding member of the flute/viola/harp trio, "janus", and is committed to broadening the trio repertoire through working with composers and artists alike. janus is set to release its debut collaborative album in early 2010…”; “Beth is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music (BM and MM) and has studied with George Taylor and John Graham. She is a recipient of the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program certificate and the Orchestral Studies Diploma from the Eastman School of Music. She currently lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and enjoys teaching pilates and riding her road bike whenever possible.” More…

Guest speaker Wade Richards, Creative Movement and Music Therapist, will talk about "Vocal Yoga". Wade is a guest in the Arts Leadership Program class "Keys to Healthy Music" taught by Susanne Callan-Harris, M.S., P.T., chief Physical Therapist for University Health Services who specializes in Performing Arts Medicine.

Guest speaker Bill Hunt will talk about "Taxes". Bill is a guest in the Arts Leadership Program class"Entrepreneurship in Music", taught by Professor Ramon Ricker, Senior Associate Dean for Professional Studies and Director of the Institute for Music Leadership at ESM.
ALP Event: EWE and EWO Pre-concert Talk
Monday, May 4, 7:15pm
Personal connections to music and any concert are integral to the enjoyment of any musical event! Students enrolled in the course entitled, Music Presentations That Connect: How to Engage Your Audience, will present pre-concert talks which are free and open to the public.
