Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra
Friday, January 23, 8:00pm, Eastman Theatre
Be in the Eastman Theatre for the season's hottest jazz event, as the Eastman School of Music Institute for Music Leadership and the Rochester International Jazz Festival join forces to present Maria Schneider and her critically acclaimed NYC-based 18-piece jazz orchestra in a grand "homecoming" for the world-renowned composer, multiple Grammy Award winner, and Eastman alumna. Ticket proceeds will benefit Eastman's jazz scholarship programs.

Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program
ALP student Maria Kanakis was awarded a special opportunity grant to attend the League of American Orchestras' Orchestra Leadership Academy seminar, Essentials of Orchestra Management, in New York in January 2009.
