The International Services Office (ISO) interacts with departments within the University community to advocate for and address the various needs of international students.  The ISO provides programs and services for more than 1700 international students, 600 international “scholars” (faculty, researchers, post-docs), and their dependents from over 90 countries.  The ISO is the University’s official liaison with the Department of State, foreign and American consulates and embassies, and the Department of Homeland Security for all student issues.  This Office administers, under specific government regulations and the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), the F-1 Student and J-1 Exchange Visitor Programs.

The ISO is responsible for issuing visa documents and advising students on all immigration matters. It serves as an information resource to assist internationals in adjusting to the United States, the University, and the Rochester community.
