Beryl Wright Garver

Assistant Professor of Accompanying (part-time)



Beryl Garver received Bachelor (1985) and Master of Music (1995) degrees from James Madison University, in piano performance and orchestral conducting, respectively.  She received the Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music from the Eastman School of Music (1999), where she has taught since 2001, collaborating with guest artists and students for recitals and master classes, coaching voice majors, and teaching Voice Repertoire classes and the Junior Accompanying class.

Ms. Garver has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Nazareth College since 1998, and has collaborated with the international performing artists Gregory Kunde (tenor) and Derrick Smith (baritone), as well as professional artists from the Rochester area.  She has served as a coach and accompanist for the Eastman School of Music, East Irondequoit (NY) Central School District, Shenandoah Valley (VA) Choral Society, James Madison University, and throughout the state of Virginia.

Ms. Garver has been music director for the Gregory Kunde Chorale since 2000, and has served as music director and conductor for many musicals and operas in Virginia and in New York State.
