Lab/Classroom Technology Assistant
Open to both Graduates and Undergraduates with Federal Work Study
The lab/classroom technology assistant is responsible for assisting the Instructional Technology Coordinator in two main areas: Student Computer Labs and to a lesser degree classroom/AV support.
(1) Lab duties consist of assisting in the day-to-day function of the computer labs found around Eastman. This includes assisting lab patrons with common software questions, cleaning the equipment, troubleshooting any technical problems and fostering a friendly patron-focused environment.
(2) AV/Classroom support involves the maintenance and support of equipment in Eastman's classrooms and varied venues. This entails aiding educators and students with technical questions about the equipment in our classrooms, and the physical setup of audio/visual equipment for classroom/educational related events.
Qualified applicants should work well with people in an instructional setting (explaining and guiding patrons working with software) and be comfortable working with Mac, Windows or Linux operating systems.
Though not a requirement, it would be very helpful for the applicant to be familiar with Sibelius and or Finale. In time the assistant can be used to manage the lab at a higher administrative level caring for software deployment and server administration.
*While Federal Work Study is preferred, we can hire a limited number of applicants without Federal Work Study.
