Applying to the DMA Program
The application for the DMA degree program requires the submission of a number of supplemental forms and materials (some for the purpose of prescreening applicants), in addition to the audition (required for all applicants to this degree program) and interviews. All DMA applicants must come to Rochester to audition and interview. We make every effort to notify applicants who are prescreened as to whether or not they are invited to Rochester in sufficient time to make economical travel arrangements. However, we strongly recommend that applicants do not confirm travel arrangements until they have been invited to audition. Applicants must audition on a scheduled audition date, as noted in the application.
Specific application and audition/interview requirements by major are detailed below. Note that tuition scholarships to graduate students come in the form of Graduate Awards. Some awards require additional auditions or interviews; these are scheduled on the same day as the audition/ interview for the major.
