A Music-Filled Day of Homecoming

The Community Music School’s annual “homecoming” — a daylong music extravaganza featuring concurrent performances by Community Music School students and ensembles — will take place Saturday, December 23, 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall, the Main Hall, Howard Hanson Hal, and Messinger Halll of the Eastman School of Music (26 Gibbs Street). Current and former Eastman Community Music School students, parents, and the general public are invited to experience a day of nonstop performances featuring nearly all of the Community Music School’s youth and adult ensembles.

The Eastman Community Music School tradition, begun in 1998, has become a big event for Community Music School students and faculty. “It allows us to showcase the incredible talent and musicianship in the Community Music School, which is not always immediately known to the public,” said Howard Potter, associate dean of community education.
