Violin Curriculum
Eastman Beginning Strings (EBS)
November 2011
The purpose of the EBS Violin Curriculum is to provide a systematic pedagogy for students under the age of eleven. Instruction is provided in the private studio setting with corresponding EBS ensemble/group classes. The program is divided into three levels and includes:
- Standards and requirements, therefore establishing a strong foundation.
- Scales for intonation, sound production and bow control.
- Methods and Studies, to focus on specific technique.

Our EBS faculty are encouraged to create their own teaching personalities while working within the suggested general guidelines.
