Eastman Youth Chamber Soloists

Middle School & High School; 3 units

Diego Garcia, Director
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

For advanced young string players, who already possess a refined string technique, and solid ensemble skills. EYCS facilitates the musical development of young players through the detail oriented study of musical masterpieces from the Baroque to the present. Rehearsals focus on subtleties of string playing (timing, nuance, gesture, phrasing, tone color, sound production, and articulation) which lead to the ensemble’s delivery of high caliber performances. EYCS showcases the developing skills of individual members through frequent solo opportunities and rotating principal positions. EYCS members exhibit refined stage presence, virtuosic string playing, and mature musical interpretations from every period. First rehearsal 9/16.
