Rock & Pop History & Analysis

High School–adult; 4 units
Paul Hoffman, Instructor

Saturdays, 3:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

In this exciting class, Paul Hofmann takes us through the formative decades of Rock ‘N Roll music, including its most direct influences (particularly Blues and Country music), and into the exciting history (both musical and cultural) which followed: from the folk rock of Dylan to the British Invasion; from R&B to Motown to Michael Jackson; from the psychedelic era through the jazz-rock and heavy metal of the 1970s; up to the MTV era of the early 1980s.  A fascinating and entertaining overview of the evolution of Rock and Pop music.
