Violin Instructor (TAR part-time)
Duties:

Teach private and Eastman Beginning Strings group lessons.

Teach students including a full range of ages and abilities.

Prepare students for college auditions, NYSSMA solo festivals, NYSSMA ensemble festivals and their home school’s performance needs.

Prepare students for ECMS recitals and juries and ensemble participation.
-
Possible ensemble coaching may be included.

Highly developed recruiting skills required

Director of Eastman Piccolo Strings (TAR part-time)
Eastman Piccolo Strings – rehearsals: Saturdays, 10:45-noon. Elementary & Middle School string students, grades 1-8, with at least one year of playing experience. Students learn basic elements of orchestral playing in a fun and supportive environment. Auditions: Students should prepare two contrasting solos of their choice (NYSSMA levels 1-3) which best represent their playing. No accompaniment is necessary, no sight reading will be asked.
Duties:
- Direct Eastman Piccolo Strings in weekly Saturday rehearsals
- Organize and present annual concerts
- Recruit students to the ensemble
- Participate in and contribute to EBS activities and meetings when possible
- Participate in and contribute to strings department meetings when possible
Minimum Requirements:
Highly experienced bowed string teacher
Highly experienced ensemble director of elementary students
Public / private school experience
BM degree
