Through its Graduate Award program, the Eastman School of Music provides financial support for graduate students who are especially skilled as accompanists. Some of these students major in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music, while others major in other fields. The audition requirements differ depending on the student's intended major.
These audition requirements are listed under three sections:
Section I Audition requirements for admission to the degrees Master of Music or Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music
Section II Audition requirements for Graduate Award in Studio Accompanying (GA #21)

If your intended major is in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music:
Please be advised that auditions by tape/CD or at regional audition centers are not permitted for applicants to the MM and DMA programs in Piano
Accompanying and Chamber Music. Applicants must audition in person at the Eastman School in Rochester, NY.
Your audition requirements are described in Section I, below. These requirements ensure that you will receive automatic consideration for a Graduate Award in Studio Accompanying (GA #21).
